Important: This Extension is designed to operate locally. We do not collect, store, or transmit your exported contact lists or chat history to our servers.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

The Extension explicitly does NOT collect, access, store, or transmit:

  • Chat Content: No access to the content of your messages, photos, or videos.
  • Exported Data: The Excel/CSV/VCard files you generate are created directly on your device. We do not have access to these files.
  • Personal Information: No collection of your personal WhatsApp account details beyond what is necessary for local display (e.g., your own phone number is not collected by our servers).
  • Browsing History: No tracking of your browsing activity on other websites.

3. Data Storage and Processing

3.1 Local Browser Storage

The Extension uses Chrome's local storage API solely to save your preferences within your browser. This data includes:

  • Export format settings (e.g., Excel vs CSV)
  • User interface preferences
  • License/Subscription status (if applicable)

You can clear this data at any time through Chrome's extension settings.

3.2 Exported Files

All files (Contacts, Group Members) exported through the Extension are saved directly to your local device using Chrome's downloads API. The Extension does not retain copies or transmit these files anywhere.

4. Required Permissions and Their Purpose

The Extension requires certain Chrome permissions to function:

  • host_permissions (*://*.whatsapp.com/*): Required to access the WhatsApp Web interface to extract contact lists and group data for export.
  • storage: Required to save your user settings and preferences locally.
  • cookies (Optional): Used to verify subscription status via our website (wadesk.io) if you log in.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your exported data to third parties. We may use standard anonymous analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics) solely to improve the Extension's performance and stability. These services do not have access to your WhatsApp data.

6. Data Security

Since the Extension does not transmit your exported contact lists to external servers, the risk of data breaches involving your exported data through our Extension is minimal. All data processing occurs locally within your browser's secure environment.

7. Your Rights

You have complete control over the Extension:

  • You can uninstall the Extension at any time to remove all its local data.
  • You can clear locally stored settings via your browser's extension management page.
